The brake master cylinder works when the driver depress the brake pedal that is connected and actuated to a metal rod which pushes the brake springs and pistons inside the master cylinder, it generates and increases hydraulic pressure through the reservoir and distributes the break fluid through the brake lines allowing the calipers to grab the rotors of the wheels of your vehicle. If you are having a hard time pushing the brake pedal, experiencing unresponsive or failing brake pedal then you may have a problem with your brake master cylinder.
The Brake Master Cylinder can easily be located beneath the brake fluid resrvoir and at the top of the brake system.
